Michel_LeGrisbi: Treated me fine (966 days ago.)

I had no bad experience with the owner while I was in the store. He basically left me alone to attempt the impossible sort through the 45's. I will say you've got to check the condition of what you're about to buy especially since the prices where more than what I expected I've stumbled on a few gems only to put them back because they where damaged.

ironarrow: Soemthing is TERRIBLY WRONG with Record store owners in Calgary (992 days ago.)

Well I agree COMPLETELY. Recordland thinks they are the coolest shit around, all of them the owner and his sons. Maybe because they are the Calgary Scene and that's why I really HATE Calgary and the SCENE here. Plus I have been RIPPED off like paying 20 bucks for a SCRATCHED record, not just one track either. Heritage music, yeah that guys unreal , after spending 300 bucks the owner didn't want me to shop at his record store because I changed my mind about selling him a rare James Brown record. Only in Calgary man no wonder people HATE it here. Believe me I have shoped in recoreds stores all over the world, and it is only in this town that people have the nerve to be such assholes.

TeeRNR23: Copies! (1052 days ago.)

I used to go into Recordland about once a week to find great cd's/tapes i could never find anywhere else. I stopped going when I started noticing that he makes burns copies of cd's and makes it look as if its the real original. That really pissed me off because he's charging 10$-12$ dollars for a fake. It looks almost exactly like an original with the colours and print almost exact but watch out cuz its probably a just a burn. If i go in there now ( whichj isnt often) i alwasy make sure i check it out real carefully before i buy it.

IHeartRecords: Absolutely RUDE. (1057 days ago.)

Comes across as rude? I think everyone that's ever been inside of "RecordLand" can agree that the owner is nothing but a neurotic asshole. Sure, the place has lots of records but he didn't make the music. Hell, I don't even know if he LISTENS to the music. I mean, I could care less if he's just pissed off at all the "window shoppers" that come in and don't buy anything but for God's sake, don't go into business if you're no good with people - and let me tell you, this Armand Cohen piece of shit is NO good with people. Fuck this guy. Fuck his store. You want good records and great service? Go to Hot Wax or Heritage Posters/Music.

Mojo80: I LOVE THIS PLACE (1129 days ago.)

I guess you could say the owner of Recordland comes across rude, I thought that the first few times I walked in the place, but after a few times in there, he actually started to talk to me, ever since then he has been great. I know he treats his regulars good, I think he just gets sick of the hundreds of typical Inglewood window shoppers who go in there take up space not buy a damn thing (as anyone who has been in there knows, there's not much space to maneuver around in there). I'm sure he saves his more pleasant side for people who are serious collectors good customers. This is a great place to buy vintage records, Ive found many great collectible albums, many of them in great shape. But you has to be very careful to take the actual record out of the sleeve check the condition, because there is a lot of crap scratched up warped records in there. There is more records cd's in there than anyplace I've ever seen, there is thousands more in the back, I think that's why he is not so enthusiastic when people try to sell or trade more stuff in to him, he is definitely running out of room has more stuff than he will ever sell. What a mess ( i love it ). I would recommend Recordland to anyone looking for rare obscure records, as I'm sure there are records cd's in there that you would never find anywhere else. As for the grumpy owner, he is actually a nice guy once he warms up to you.

lastlight: Owner is rudest guy imaginable (1215 days ago.)

I'll refrain from cursing although after my experience there I certainly did not. I took in some vinyl, some of which was rare and valuable. He roughly gestures for me to put my box down. He rifles through the records literally bending the sleeves and jamming them all back in the box after he hastily went through them. He says "how much?" and I tell him to just offer me something. He seems pretty disgusted at the notion so I give him a price to begin what I thought would be some sort of bartering process. He quite literally tells me to get out. I proceed to let him know what I think of a person who literally causes damage to my records before turning his nose up at them. He calls me a few unpleasant things and I return the gesture and leave. How he's in business is beyond me. My experience over at Hotwax was better to say the least.
