Deathtrap

Deathtrap

Every Day until Saturday, Feb 10 2007

@ Pumphouse Theatres

Deathtrap was one of the biggest hits in the history of Broadway. As Levin described it himself, it is a thriller in two acts, one set, five characters. The basic premise here is: How far will someone go to have a hit play? This is a story where everyone has hidden motives. There is a play called Deathtrap that has been written by Clifford and, by all accounts, it sure to be a big hit on Broadway - a sure thing. Almost every character in this story is going to try to possess this play and pass it off as their own work. There's absolutely nothing that any of them would stop at to get it.

The Cripple of Inishmaan

Every Day until Sunday, Mar 25 2007

@ Theatre Calgary

BY MARTIN MCDONAGH.
DIRECTED BY BEN BARNES.
FEATURING ROD BEATTIE.
When a Hollywood film crew descends on a remote Irish community, it provides plenty of new gossip for the local folks – and new hope for Cripple Billy, an outcast boy who dreams of stardom and escape. A quirky new comedy in the tradition of The Playboy of the Western World, staged by the former Artistic Director of Dublin’s Abbey Theatre.
A celebration of Irish culture and its irresistible people, this play will surprise and enlighten you and make you laugh out loud with the absurd delight of it all. – Dennis
